Naughty Neighbors

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Yes that’s what I and fellow EC author Amy Ruttan wrote about in our Oh Yum! books for Ellora’s Cave. Those younger, naughty, sexy neighbors that grew from boys to men. Yummmmm….

Amy and I are going to share a little sumthin’ sumthin’ about our books!

I had tons of fun writing this book. I’d been wanting to write an older woman/younger man story for a while and once I saw the call at EC, I knew I had to do it. This book wrote itself (I wish they all did that) and I jammed through it in a couple of weeks. It didn’t want to end - I went over word count! I could’ve made it longer!

I hope my enthusiasm for writing this book shines through. I wanted to make it a little funny and a lot sexy. I hope I succeeded.

Thanks for having me at Naughty and Spice today! I am thrilled to have shared a release day with Karen Erickson, especially sharing Oh Yums that both dealt with the proverbial boy next door story. Nice and naughty *insert devil laugh*

I had so much fun writing Love Thy Neighbor. The characters were fun and the sex could be hot and really naughty. I felt like I could really let go. I also got to live vicariously through my characters and got to play around with some high class fashion.

The inspiration hit me like a tidal wave when I saw the Call for Submission from Ellora’s Cave. The story sprung to life and the muse forced me to write until it was complete.

The characters are fun and I hope everyone will enjoy it. I certainly enjoyed writing it!

Let Shelli tempt you with the spicy, spicy

Okay, I’m excited, because on Tuesday the second book in my Seattle Steam series Tempting Adam came out!
:bounce:

I wanted to share with my NAS‘ers and give you a taste at a spicier (okay, still on the somewhat tame side) excerpt that hasn’t really made rounds.

The man she wants is the one she must deceive.

Seattle Steam Book 2

Christy Wallace may be a respectable Seattle Spanish teacher, but she’s got a sultry side. She lets it come out to play during the summer, when she moonlights as a Salsa dancing instructor.
Sexy, cowboy Adam wants more time with her than just a fleeting cup of coffee, but she makes it clear that if he wants her, he’ll have to sign up for dance class. Amazingly enough, he does. And Christy finds herself falling for a charming country hick with hands as fast as his feet.

Adam’s no hick, though. He’s the owner of Adam’s Apples, the fastest-growing cider business in eastern Washington. To his own surprise, one night with her has him thinking in terms of forever. That is, until he walks into a restaurant for a family lunch—and finds Christy on the arm of his brother.

Is there a logical explanation? Or is something rotten in Seattle?

Available Here!

Spicier Excerpt:

“Take off your heels,” he commanded softly.

She blinked. “My heels?”

“Please.”

Christy gave him a quick glance, before leaning forward to unfasten the black stilettos. When his hand moved in a light caress down her back, her breath locked in her throat. She kicked off the shoes and raised an eyebrow at him questioningly.

Without responding, he reached down and lifted one of her legs, urging her to sit sideways on the couch so that both of her feet could rest on his lap.

Oh, no, she groaned inwardly. Of course. The perfect man, huh? Here it was, the one big flaw. He had a foot fetish. If he even tried to suck her toes—

“I’m assuming your feet are sore from dancing in those heels all night.” He began using his thumbs to massage over the arch of her foot.

“Oh…” The sensation was orgasmic. “You assumed right.”

Not a foot-fetish man, just a foot-massaging god! Christy closed her eyes and moaned gratefully as he continued to massage both of her feet.

His fingers slid between her toes and delicious shivers rippled up her spine. He must have realized her reaction, because he looked up from her feet and gave her a slow smile.

“Am I doing this okay?”

“More than okay,” she confessed and leaned back against the arm of the futon.

As she sat there, pampered and increasingly aroused, she had a sudden thought. She was in a skirt and her legs were in his lap. What exactly could Adam see? Maybe not enough.

Feeling deliciously wicked, she let her knees fall open and waited for his response.

* * *

Adam swallowed hard, unable to turn his gaze away from the incredible view she’d just given him. Under the black dress, creamy white thighs now lay open with a lacy strip of red between them. Did she realize what she’d just done by changing position?

He jerked his glance up into her face. Oh, yes. Christy knew exactly what she was doing. Well then, game on.

He worked his massage up towards her calf muscles, letting his fingers trail over the sensitive skin behind her knee. She laughed softly and jerked away. There was one ticklish spot revealed.

Hmm. Time to adjust his position. Adam lifted her legs off his lap and came to sit closer to her, folding her knees so her legs were an inverted “V” on the couch. Her dress shifted higher and was nearly at the top of her thighs. He could now see that the red scrap of lace was a tiny thong that left little to the imagination. Blood rushed to his cock and he groaned inwardly.

Adam waited to see if she’d fix the dress, pull it back down, but she made no move towards modesty. Encouraged, he placed his hands just above her knees, pushing them apart. Then he trailed his fingers lightly up and down the tops of her thighs. Her body trembled under the caress.

Needing no further invitation, he angled himself so that he was almost lying between her legs, and then leaned down to kiss her. Her eyes, which had been glazed with arousal, drifted shut as his mouth closed over hers.

In case you haven’t seen a peek at Dangerous Grounds yet, I’m going to share it here at Naughty and Spice. It just hit #10 on the Best Seller list at Samhain Publishing (after 4 days!) so I’m THRILLED and saying thanks to all who’ve bought it!

:doglick:

Something’s hot in Seattle, and it’s not just the espresso.

Madison’s needs are simple. All she wants are two things: Make Ooo La Latté the newest trend in espresso, and seduce the sexiest cop in Seattle. But things aren’t going exactly as planned.

First, Gabe’s a little hung up on the fact that she’s his best friend’s little sister, and he’s determined to keep his hands off. Second, her shop gets robbed by the increasingly violent Espresso Bandit, and now she’s the only one who can identify him.

Gabe whisks her into hiding for her own protection, but soon finds his heart is under assault by the luscious—and persistent—Madison. But no matter where they hide, danger follows.

On such dangerous grounds, the trick will be to live long enough to keep the flame alive.

EXCERPT:

“It’s a mocha. And I know you said you don’t like coffee, but it’s good. I promise. Just try it.”

He picked up the wide mug and brought it to his mouth. His lips pursed as his blew on the steaming liquid.

Madison’s gaze focused on those lips and she held back a groan. Just think, soon those lips could be all over my body.

He took a sip and then swallowed. His expression remained the same. Then he raised his gaze to her questioning stare and gave a brief smile.

“Um, I like what you did with the fresh chocolate on top.”

“Thanks. I’m a chocolate activist.”

Time to get him thinking about something besides coffee. Madison walked back toward the counter, making sure her elbow nudged the straws so they tumbled onto the floor.

“Oops, I swear I am so clumsy sometimes.” She bent over slowly and smiled as she felt her jeans pull downward with the motion. If she was correct—and from the sudden coolness on her bare skin she knew she was—her thong would be quite visible right now.

She picked up the straws, trying to figure out if his silence meant he was checking her out. She glanced over her shoulder to where he was sitting. Bingo. His eyes were focused very intently on her ass. They immediately shifted when he realized she had turned to look at him.

“It’s good, huh?” she asked and turned her attention back to the straws. “Your mocha.”

“It’s…pretty damn good.”

Madison clutched the straws in her hand and deposited them in the garbage.

She came back and sat beside him. He glanced everywhere but at her. His mocha, the door, the wall full of ceramic mugs.

“Gabe?”

His gaze turned to her, almost with reluctance.

“Can I get you anything else? Are you hungry? Do you want some biscotti? Maybe a bagel?” She ran her tongue over her bottom lip. “Or how about a blowjob?”

Old Centuron should have been a forgotten colony, but when Sarina arrives to do research, she confronts the brutal reality of how wrong she was. Now prisoner to a man who is both wolf and human, she faces a shocking truth and an undeniable passion.

Now Available

Sarina stumbled backward, her eyes widening and her blood pounding in a potent combination of fear and horror. She grabbed the trunk of the tree, the only way she was able to stay upright as she watched the wolf transform into a large, muscular, completely naked man. His hair was black, his face a mass of hard angles.

A high pitched whine indicated the pod was lifting off the ground. Her last chance! Without pausing to analyze that thing in front of her, she bolted past him, rushing toward the pod.

“Wait!” she screamed. “Reynard, don’t leave me—”

Arms snapped around her waist and jerked her backward. The air rushed from her lungs as she slammed against the chest of the man behind her. The forest swallowed her shrill scream as she struggled against him. She spotted a severed hand a few feet away, and her scream grew louder and more hysterical.

“Silence,” he commanded. One arm slid under her ribcage and tightened just below her breasts.

The thing spoke English? She slammed her head backward into his, hoping to stun him into dropping her. He cursed and his grip tightened, while stars danced behind her eyes. What the hell was his skull made of? Iron?

“Foolish woman,” he growled and grabbed her braid, tugging her head backwards so that her throat was bared, and she was rendered immobile. “Be still.”

Icy sweat broke out all over body, and her heart beat so hard she knew he could hear it. With her head angled back, she had the perfect view of the pod flying straight up into the atmosphere.

She was alone on this planet. With this thing. All her crew had either been butchered or had abandoned her. Terror swept through her, leaving her weak.

“What are you?” The words left numb limps.

Shelli’s latest release: Cabin Fever

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

When her roommate, needing a romantic weekend with her boyfriend, bribes her out of the house with use of an isolated cabin, Nikki reluctantly agrees. She didn’t realize the cabin came fully equipped with an uptight, yet incredibly sexy, man.

Chase is looking forward to a quiet weekend alone at his cabin. When he tackles someone who he believes to be an intruder, he’s surprised to find the unusual and sensual woman was given a key to his place.

Stuck together during a snowstorm, the heat from the fire isn’t the only thing heating up the cabin.

EXCERPT

Nikki pulled the car forward and parked it in front of the cabin. She climbed out, dragging the suitcase after her, and stomped up the wooden steps to the door.

Fumbling in her purse, she tried to find the key Shaylee had given her. Damn. It sure was dark. Didn’t people in the boondocks believe in porch lights?

Her fingers closed around the cold metal key, just as a yawn popped her jaw. Bed. That was the only thing on her mind. Screw the s’mores. Those could wait until breakfast.

She unlocked the door and swung it inward, reaching inside the door to find a light switch. Nothing.

Swearing under her breath, she stepped inside and kicked the door shut behind her. There had to be at least one light in this cabin.

Stretching her arms out and squinting—as if narrowed eyes would give her a better chance of seeing anything in the pitch black—she ran her hands over the smooth wooden walls.

No light switch, just more wall. Wall. More wall. Wait, what was that? Something warm, and…hairy?

“What the—” She jerked her hand back, just as arms wrapped around her waist and lifted her off her feet.

The war cry that erupted from whoever was behind her mixed with her terrified screams.

The person—a man, it felt like—held her high against his chest as he crossed the cabin.

“Don’t hurt me! Oh, fuck, please don’t hurt me!” The air rushed from her lungs as she was flung onto a bed or couch. Fear clogged in her throat, and her blood pounded.

She rolled away in an attempt to escape from whoever it was, but he was already on top of her, pinning her hands above her head with a knee on each side of her waist.

Shit! If she got out of this alive, she would beat the crap out of Shaylee. Who the hell sends her friend up to an isolated cabin to get raped?

He transferred her wrists to one hand and lifted himself away a tiny bit. She heard him click on a lamp, and bright light filled the room. She squinted her eyes shut, crying out in pain.

“Who are you? Breaking and entering is illegal in case you didn’t know.”

His voice was rough, raspy, and—God, she was stupid for thinking it—damn sexy.

“Who am I?” she peeked at him through one eye, wondering if the man would match the voice. Yes, unfortunately. “I’m the bitch who’s about to have you arrested.”

Arrested? Was the woman nuts? Chase eyed the woman beneath him warily. She certainly looked a little…different.

Her black hair was in two braids, each one coming to rest just below her chin. Green eyes, rimmed in dark black eyeliner, glared up at him. Her tongue darted out across the lush mouth, tracing over the faded red lipstick stain.

His gaze moved lower to the tight black sweater that hugged full breasts. His cock stirred slightly, and he bit back a groan. Stop looking at her tits. He glanced lower, noting the obscenely tiny black and white plaid skirt that revealed pale white thighs below. Thighs which soon disappeared into knee-high, laced-up black boots.

He shook his head. Christ. Only he would catch a kinky gothic chick trying to break into the cabin he was using for the weekend.

A peek at Trust and Dare. Why I wrote it.

Friday, August 10th, 2007
a-peek-at-trust-and-dare-why-i-wrote-it

So my first book from Samhain Publishing came out almost two weeks ago. It’s doing great, after not even two weeks it hit #6 on the best seller list, and that’s a 3 week average! I was thrilled, because I’m a new author at Samhain. Trust and Dare was a lot of fun to write, it was also very therapeutic.

All my life I grew up crushing on military men. It’s probably because I spent my childhood baking under the hot sun at airshows, and walking around a base filled with men in uniform. I always knew I’d fall for one. And I did, and unfortunately he destroyed my unwavering faith and innocent crushing on military men. But he did leave me with one fabulous thing. A beautiful daughter. Anyway, this bitterness ate at me, and I was mad at him for making me transfer this anger to all men in uniform. Especially with all they’re doing for our country right now.

So I made myself move forward and recognize it was just one man, not all of them. Shit happens, I’m certainly not the first woman to get screwed. Literally. :lmao: Sorry, couldn’t resist. Anyway, the final step in healing, and closing that chapter of anti-military men in my life, was writing Trust and Dare. My hero is a confident, alpha, army guy who has strong values. My heroine is a sexy, curvy, prankster, who absolutely refuses to date military men. I loved writing this book. Loved it! It was too much fun, and like I said…. a creative way to finish the healing.

So here’s some more about Trust and Dare and a dirtyish  excerpt!
