What’s my secret by Jenna Bayley-Burke

I’ll tell you my secret…
Rain. You heard me, rain. Drizzly weather is the secret to writing.
When the sun is shining and there is just the right amount of shade outside, who wants to be sitting with a computer? I know exactly where to sit in the yard so my face is shaded with a book and my toes are tickled by the sprinkler. Heaven.
Rain comes in handy in writing too. Not sure how to get your characters off a golf course quickly? Send in the rush of a coastal thunderstorm. (Par For The Course) Need to get a character in a coffee shop? Let the rain drip off the awnings she’s walking beneath. (Starting Over) Rain clears the air, in nature and for our characters.
But I don’t want it to rain right now. I’ve had enough for a while! And…I’m waiting to hear back from an editor, so I have nothing that needs writing.
Besides, warm temperatures can be just as inspiring, especially if you have a character out for an evening stroll who happens to hear something erotic coming from a neighbors window. (Night of Inspiration) Rain would have ruined that story.
**To rain or not to rain…what kind of weather do you like in your stories? **
