I say…who needs one? That’s right, I like to be spontaneous.
This last week I’ve had Emma Petersen out visiting. We decided to do a road trip down the Oregon Coast. So we get in the car, without a map and without any real solid plan. It was a jello plan. In fact, we’d not even gotten into the city of Seattle, before we got off the freeway and almost decided to go east to a different city instead. Then, once again, we turned around and decided to make the trek to Oregon.
The entire three days–which morphed from two to three–we just randomly made decisions. Where to go, where to stay, how long to stay. And I loved it. I love going which ever way the wind blows me. No plan, no expectations. My daughter seemed to do okay too…well, besides the occasional melt down after six hours in the car. We even decided to swing by and meet Gwen for lunch. Spontaneous is fabulous! But I don’t think Emma was liking it too much. Stressed her the F out at points. Which I can understand, I used to be a planner. I needed each point planned in a trip. And then another friend broke me into the spontaneity traveling. Or you know, you could just call it pantsing traveling.
How about you when you set of on a trip? Need a plan? Or pants it?
Here’s a few pics from our trip!
