I’m having a hard time focusing. On the writing bit. Here we are about three weeks from the RWA National Conference in San Francisco and I’m not ready. I should be working on writing, on pitching, on adding to my new wardrobe. Hell I should be working on something that’s RWA-related.

Instead I’m sitting around sweltering in the heat. Or I’m splashin’ in the pool with the kids so we won’t swelter. Or I read and think to myself, man you should write. Then I watch TV. Or I sit in front of my computer and do…nothing.

I blame summer. Kids are home and distracting. There are also fun things going on. Lately it’s just plain too hot and it’s so much more fun to just be a slug. Well, I think I’m sluggish only because of the weather. Please I’m begging for a ninety degree day – today is slated for 112!! Isn’t that just freaking unnatural?
