Went on a Day Trip

And became inspired! The fam and I drove about forty minutes north and hung out at Bass Lake. It’s amazing what forty minutes and about three thousand feet will do for you.

Beautiful trees and that wonderful pine smell…

I’d already planned to base the new book I’ve just started on Bass Lake. Now that I hung out there all day I knew I had to base the fictional town I’d created in my head on Bass Lake. Why don’t we come here more often? Next time I swear I’m bringing my laptop and writing.

Anywhere you can go and escape the heat that’s not too far? Share.

You know you could buy the house and run a writers retreat there. The kind that go for a week or two.
I’m soooo there when you get it!
I’m glad your day out inspired you.

I can head any direction and find a lake in 15 minutes.

Mostly, I love Northern Ontario, or the coast of Lake Huron just about an hour North of where I live. Lined with Sun flowers and blue water. *sigh* :doglick:

    I hate the city.

I don’t venture out in the heat if it’s too intense. Ask Shell, I am such a big baby when I get too hot. But little escapes I like our the beach and the Getty. I take my laptop and just relax. :D

I wanna go to Bass Lake now. :D :wootrock:

I go to Whidbey Island and my family’s cabin. You get the breeze off Puget Sound. That lake looks fabulous!
