Get some

Holy macaroni and cheese, but it’s been one year since we launched Naughty and Spice! Can you believe it?! I barely can. So much has happened in this past year. And then again…so much hasn’t.
While I’m typing this post out, I have a chef in the kitchen whipping up a cake for our celebration. He was so sweet to let me take a quick picture of him. I’ve included a picture of the cake and the recipe at the end of this post
Week after week we talk about anything and everything here. We laugh at the word discretion. Because if we can’t have one place on the internet to just let loose, then where’s all the fun in that? We’ve talked about our sex toys, hair dye for down south, women we’d do if we swung that way…we just like to discuss it all.
A year ago I was dreaming of selling to NY and getting an agent. A week ago that became a reality. That’s where I’ve come so far. Where have I actually gone backward? Or lost ground? Oooooh, that thing called having a love life.
The very first Naughty and Spice post–and my first post here–was all about that toe curling passion. I’d just had a kiss that was nice, but didn’t quite knock my socks off. I made it a vow to keep looking for the one that would.
Have I found it? No. Have I attempted to find it? Double no. My love life has actually gotten worse in the past year… which if you’d told me then that was possible, I would have laughed in your face. But sadly, it is possible.
So my goal for the next year? Well, to also sell a book that isn’t erotic to New York (but still sensual!) and maybe even to…get some? Yeah I said it. To get some. Even if some is just a hot and heavy make out session. It’d be a good start.
So what’s gone on in the last year with you? And please share what you like (if anything) about our blog! And maybe what you’d like to see more of?
And now…here’s that cake and recipe I promised. Mmmm, hope you brought your appetite!
| CAKE INGREDIENTS 1 box German chocolate or spice cake mix 1 box of white cake mix 1 package (12 or 16 oz) white sandwich cookies 1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix A few drops green food coloring 12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent |
SERVING “DISHES AND UTENSILS” 1 NEW cat-litter box 1 NEW cat-litter box liner 1 NEW pooper scooper |
Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill.
Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.
When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and dump in mixture.
Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape the blunt ends into slightly curved points.
Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture.
Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top. Heat 5 more Tootsie
Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box.
Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!! This recipe was found here.
P.S. I will draw a name for the winner of a copy of one of my ebooks tomorrow morning and post the name!

Damn it Shell you put that cake recipe up! Gag me!
You’ve done a lot this year and you should be proud! You’ll find that knight in shining armor, I just know it.
May 26th, 2008 at 12:29 am
I know, I really WAS going to put a pretty picture of a cake up, but this was too much fun. And I know–just know with all my heart–there is somebody sick enough out there to serve this at a kid’s birthday party.
Knight in Shining armor, hmm? Sounds intense. See I know I’m half the issue. I want it and yet I don’t. LOL.

I love what you all have done with this blog in the past year. I don’t get by often but I always find something interesting when I do. Raising my glass to you- here’s to another year!

Oh, I remember having this cake at my co-worker’s Halloween party. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Nothing has been going much since last year. I think the blog looks great, and I can’t think of anything to add.
May 26th, 2008 at 1:32 am
Hi Kissa! Thanks for the toast :)
Hi Amelia! WOW someone who’s tried this cake! I give you serious props. I would too, but I know many who wouldn’t! LOL.
May 26th, 2008 at 5:59 am
You’ll find a guy eventually…but until then you can just ogle that cook
May 26th, 2008 at 8:42 am
I know I’ve been spending too much time with my kids when the first thing I thought of upon seeing that picture was playing MatchBox cars on his six-pack highway.
May 26th, 2008 at 8:59 am
Anywho. I’m sure your nights out there, Shell. You just wait and see. He’ll show up when you least expect him.
May 26th, 2008 at 10:45 am
Can’t say the cake or the guy do much for me.
My love life is dead as a door nail. And I’m only just barely interested in working on it. Seriously, it’s more trouble that it’s worth. Even Enron doesn’t have as poor a return on investment.
Joking.
Mostly.
My writing’s been mixed. I got three e-books published in the last year and contracted. But my writing stalled for a while. I did just finish edits for my last e-book on Saturday. It will be out June 20th.
I’ll be working harder on my writing in the coming year. My love life? If I can find the time and energy. Which is unlikely.

I wouldn’t change a thing. :)

Ayla, good call! Make them eat it first!
Alessia, that’s one fun race track. I’d get out a toy car for that too ;)
Emma, don’t deny the cake. The cake is love.
Rob, that’s not shabby on the writing at all! A love life is overrated.
Amie, you’re great at topping.
Amy, thank you!!
May 26th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
I have to agree with Ayla. How gross!!!
May 26th, 2008 at 3:15 pm

May 26th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
The cake sounds delicious, but I’m not so sure about the utensils.
May 26th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
Uhm, well I can admit you have just found your “sicko” LOL
Not only have a I tried that cake but I made it for my kids halloween party several years ago! LMAO I do the best Halloweens and that year I managed to gross out almost a whole roomful of middle schoolers! I was damn proud of myself.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to top that cake?
As for the last year, well, it’s been a whirlwind and doesn’t look to slow down anytime soon.
Congrats to you on your recent EXCITING news, 2008 is looking to be a great year.

ooh, nice eye candy. Congrats on selling to NY and getting an agent. lol, I’m with Ayla on the cake. As for your love life - hang in there. The kiss that will knock your socks off will come when you least expect it. Happy 1 year anniversary.
May 26th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
How is it possible to have a chef like him in your kitchen and still not get any?!
May 26th, 2008 at 6:02 pm
Kimmy, it’s so gross it’s fabulous. I would probably make it too.
Caffey, thank you! Hugs! And yay on the son coming home with the laptop. Mine’s about to crap out someday soon. I can just tell!
Amy, I know, I want him in my kitchen too.
Danielle, thanks for all your support in the past couple years!! And yeah, we can both make it a goal this year to go on a date and find the amazing kissing men. Or… I can just go ogle your brother for kicks. But I didn’t just type that.
Jane, the utensils IS where it gets scary. It’s a little too real. And the tootsie rolls.
Eliza, you are my idol. Seriously. I want to be you!
Beth, the year went by so fast we almost didn’t realize it had been a year!
Shelly, that knock the socks of kiss sounds fabulous. This could be the year.
Susan, now there’s a damn good question! LOL.

Charming fellow, Shelli. I’ve had to backtrack several times just for further inspiration for
this blog, and this is as far as I’ve gotten with
my response! I guess I need more inspirational
guidance!! I’ll finish this response later!

Emma, don’t deny the cake. The cake is love. I am totally denying the cake. 3 weeks until the magic begins.
May 27th, 2008 at 7:21 am
Yummy cook is right but since I have three cats the cake doesn’t do to much for me
May 27th, 2008 at 9:27 am

Geez, maybe you should swing THAT way
Sorry. Couldn’t help myself! You’ve really got to get out there more. Maybe I’ll have to go down to Seattle and try to find that freakin’ parking attendant and set it up myself. Is that REALLY what it’s going to take?! I’ll do it. I swear!!
May 27th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Hi Jammie! I bet that parking guy was married. There’s a ton that just don’t wear rings (we discovered this in another NAS post!) It’s hard to tell who to hit on nowadays.
May 27th, 2008 at 11:45 pm
Congrats Pat!!! Yeah, your in a treat in any of those you read of Shelli’s!
May 28th, 2008 at 12:35 am
