Same Song New Verse

So I was visiting my CP yesterday, doing the blog rounds and she asked a rather pertinent question.
Do you have similar themes in your books? Or similar heroes? Do you always write Betas or Alphas? Is your heroine always spunky? Does your internal conflict always involve a lost love reeking havoc on one of your protagonists? Do you always have a woman running from a psychotic ex-husband/boyfriend etc? What similarities do you see in your last book or the one before that with the one you’re working on now?
The answer would be……..YES. I tend to write about women who are alone, but not weak. And if my heroine does have a family, she’s typically not close to them. I tend to write betas or gammas for my guys. I tend to write/love snappy dialogue (and I like to use dialogue to push a story forward). I tend to write women who are sexually experienced and/or comfortable with their sexuality and I tend to have food in my books.
As a reader, I like snappy dialogue too. And fast-paced books, so I usually don’t read a lot of historicals but love suspense and urban fantasy.
So what about you? As a reader or a writer, what do you see repeating itself in your habits?

I like fast paced books with alot of dialog. I like the sexually experienced and/or comfortable with their sexuality women. I do wish more books would talk from the hero’s POV. Suspense and contemporary is mostly what I read. However, I have started reading some paranormal.

I tend to write sarcastic heroines who think funny. Sometimes curse a lot. And are often sexually deprived (oooh that’s a mirror of my life!) I love dialog driven books. Honestly I tend to glaze over with too much description.

Mental illness always seems to come up in mine.
Have a lovely day! :-)

Hmmmm, I tend to write a lot of “friends to lovers” stories. My heroines are spunky, quirky and funny. My heroes are usually beta/gammas. Although you can inclued Alphas in my reading. I just wasn’t raised around Alpha men, so don’t really know how to write them. My heroines are usually sexually experienced, but not always comfortable with their sexuality (I have one that has never had an orgasm, for instance). I have different things for conflicts.

I’m not good at writing alpha men though I wouldn’t mind working on that. I love to read a good alpha hero (as long as I don’t have to actually live with the dude).
Hmm, my heroines are a little spunky, though sometimes demure. Until they meet the right guy.

My heroines have been all over that map. If there’s any connecting thread, they’re all strong, smart women.
The kind I like.

A reoccurring theme in my books is hot sex. Go figure.

Strong Heroines. Sexual people (male and female) and I tend to gravitate to a “follow your dreams” theme.
Cool. I try to live by a follow my dreams theme, so it works. rasta
