What’s That Smell?
I just realized about thirty minutes ago that it was my day to blog…and I had nothing to blog about! My apologies! I’m sort of in limbo right now….A little brain numb and tired, after turning in my September book, and I’ve got two projects I’m gearing up for, both of which are aching to be written.
I love that New Wip In The Morning Feeling, don’t you?
That first delicious sniff, that first sip that slides across your tongue, picking out that all-important first line. Drooling over it, fondling it, laughing to yourself about it because it’s freaking perfect. Laying in bed, obsessing about writing it, fine tun…ummm where was I? :oops:
Oh yeah, LIMBO! (Not to be confused with Mambo). I Am In Limbo. That downtime between wips where I do things like mother my children, dust off the stove, read, and clean house–last night it was my bathroom and my writing closet. Tonight… it’s my hair–because I’m getting a haircut tomorrow–and my long-ignored eyebrows *shudder*.
I’m also signing us up for a family membership to the YMCA and canceling my Curves membership. It’s only 11 dollars more a month. And I KNOW my kids will bug the shit out of me to go up there which means I’ll get some workouts in (Lord I hope so anyway)
So, what do you do in between wips?

Well, I know what else you’re doing *cough* read-my-book.
Between WIP I tend to read, watch television, work out more….quite often it takes me a couple of weeks before I jump back in, but lately I’ve been bouncing from one project to the next. 10k and I’m done!

I usually read, watch TV, actually hang out my family. I’ve been on a break for too long and it’s hard to get back into the swing of things. Shame on me!

I actually cook or give my kid some real attention. Sometimes I feel like, when I’m deep in a plot, I live in a fog.
