What were you?

what-were-you

Can you believe Halloween is just a day or two away!? Like, holy heck, how did time fly by so fast? Oh, that’s right. I’ve been bowing to the will of Sven all month and preparing for the Emerald City Writers Conference.

So I was thinking back on past Halloweens and trying to remember my costumes. Really? I was so completely boring. The only things I remember being were

1. A baby

2. A gymnist

3. A dead housewife (not bad)

3. A cat

4. A gothic bride (getting better)

5. A clown (back to bad again)

How. Boring. Was. I? Seriously! There’s so many fabulous costumes I could have been. That are out there. Oh, like this gem…

And maybe that’s why I did the fun Autumn nymph costume for myself last week. So how about you? Are you getting dressed up for Halloween? Or for a party? Or what are your kids going trick or treating as? I’m thinking of tossing on my cowboy hat I bought in Dallas, and decking out in head to toe denim (my kid wants to be a cowgirl!)

P.S. Did you see that Naughty and Spice was mentioned in the RWR by Vivi Anna in her article about group promotion? We were :thumb: ! I pretty much screamed when Karen told me, especially since we’ve only been around 4-5 months!

Yeah that’s right, we rawk. :wootrock:

Um, that man is dressed up as a va-jay-jay. I saw a dude dressed up as a giant pecker once. Every once in a while, he’d spluge. It was disgusting. But inventive.

  2. Shelli Says:

OMG! He’d spurge?! Actually there was another va-ja-jay pic where it did the same thing. GAG.

  3. Rachel.C Says:

Where do you guys get these photos? Please tell me they’re not in you personal photo albums. LOL
I’m an Aussie so we don’t do Halloween, I have gone to some fancy dress parties though. I do recall going as a tart to a Nerd and Tart party, and I’ve been the usual witch, (although the kids did say it wasn’t fair that I went as myself. Mmmm… not sure that’s a compliment.) But I do love to see all the pictures my friend has of her time living in the US. There’s a huge US expat community over here in Singapore, I can’t wait to see what they get up too.

And with the mention in RWR, way to go girls!!! :bounce:

I went to a Halloween party last night. I didn’t wear a costumes. I only remember a few costumes from my youth. I don’t know if we have anything planned for Halloween. There’s a huge private event that we’ve been invited to but it may be a little too risque for my blood. Yes, I know I’m a chicken. :bunny This bunny is going to have to do because you don’t have any chicken smileys.

  5. Rob Graham Says:

Nope. Not dressing up this year.

Hmm. Cool costumes I’ve done in the past.

When I was a kid I did a headless man costume.

I also had a rather good robot costume.

As an adult I did a vampire a number of times. I’ve got the fangs for it.

And I did a very good cyborg outfit a few times.

Best costume was Carmen Miranda with headful of fruit.

  8. Will Belegon Says:

I usually do something medieval where I can use my kilt or a cloak and my boots.

I’m not sure that Halloween is when I put on my most interesting costumes though….

  9. Shelli Says:

Will, how right you are :)

Amie, yeah the photo is a little–or a lot, gross. But it’s also hilarious. I’ve been wanting to put that on my personal blog, but knew Naughty and Spice fans could handle it so much better!

  10. Lillian Says:

Shelli, that’s a gross picture. :fu:

I am such a dork this year. I’m dressing up my kid up as Batman and I’m going as Batgirl. I can’t help myself. :wtf:

  11. Shelli Says:

I love that you’re going as Batgirl!

Hmm. So the image is THAT bad? Maybe I should take it down…?

  12. Lynn Matherly Says:

  13. Lynn Matherly Says:
