It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

its-the-most-wonderful-time-of-the-year

Yes my absolute favorite time of the year is fall without a doubt. The (supposed) coolness in the air, the turning of the leaves (well as much as they turn in CA), and yes, Halloween.

Not only is Halloween one of my favorite movies (I have a thing for late 70s, early 80s scary movies) but Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Yes indeedy, I love me some Halloween!

Too bad I live in the sticks and don’t get trick or treaters. Or that no one appreciates the decorations I put up except for me and the kids and the occasional visitor.

Well wouldn’t this dude shock the hell out of you if he came a knockin’ at your door Halloween night.

I think there’s something fun and forbidden about Halloween. All of the mystery and witchcraft and things that go bump in the night. Dressing up as someone else for just one day, having a little fun, doing things you normally wouldn’t do. I have many fond memories of working on Halloween and the entire office dressing up with a theme. One year we were hippies, another year we had a slumber party. One year the vice president showed up dressed as a woman. That was hilarious.

Of course then there’s the candy. Lots and lots of candy. Who doesn’t love candy?

Yeah I know it’s only October 3rd but bring it on damn it! Long live Halloween!

I love this time of year, too, Karen! Love it :wootrock: I love the weather and the mood. It’s all just so fabulous!

Halloween and Thanksgiving are my favorite holidays — Christmas I could skip and never miss it.

Halloween is so much fun, and we were so disappointed to find out that while we live in the subs, no trick or treaters come to our street since it’s kind of out of the main route. We do pumpkins and make pizza, do tarot readings and watch Halloween episodes of Buffy. ;) For Turkey day, it’s all about the food… love it that that holiday is really just about getting together and eating. ;)

Our Fall here so far has been rather warm — I hate winter, but I do like fall, and looking forward to colorful leaves, though it also means raking… LOTS of raking…

    I love Halloween/Samhain-love dressing up and the smell of apples and spice. Pumpkin goo on my hands as I carve a ridiculous face {I’m really bad at it-but its fun}
I do NOT like the fact that its scary movie month. I am a big weenie-a total scaredy cat.

I LOVE those movies–I tried to get my kiddos to watch with me last year and the DH flipped–so the two oldest were 10 & 12 . . . Jason and Freddy are totally POP culture and they need to know theses things.

walking around in the dark going, “cha cha cha ha ha ha ka ka ka” has sooooooo little meaning to kids who haven’t seen the movies

I am right there w/ you on fave time of year. I always buy big bulky sweaters and woolen ponchos–but alas, they usually stay in the back of my closet–Fort Worth just doesn’t cut it in the fall! (seems like it goes from 95 to 45 in about a week here–no in-between)

I’m a weenie with scary movies too. Have nightmares forEVER. I still won’t watch the Jason or Freddy movies. I saw part of one when I was a kid and it scarred me for life. (Shelli’s a big ass pansy!)

    :wootrock: I agree Karen!

Although Halloween is my favourite holiday, my favourite season is Spring. I love the freshness and promise of it.

I’m not a big fan of horror movies. Mostly because they’re gross rather than scary. Blood splattered all over just isn’t my idea of a good time.

Plus, they give me a headache. The characters in them are so dumb most of the time I keep slapping myself in the head while saying, “Noooo, don’t do that.”

I love fall, too, and I even bought one of those pumpkin candles you told me about. One of the reasons I love fall is there is a certian exptancy about the season. Like it’s all a build up for Christamas. And my birthday is December 21st, so I’ve always especially loved this time of year because everything is always about ME! :fu:

  10. Shelli Says:

OMG did you buy THEE Pumpkin Candle from Bath and Body Works? That stuff is the best. I love it. I light it and inhale. rasta Oye that sounds kind of bad.

  11. Karen Says:

The B&B Works pumpkin candle is the absolute best. So are those plug in air thingys from there. Oh yeah… :wootrock:

And the harvest candle by Yankee Candles. Aaaah, smells soooo goooood.

Yeah, I have candle issues. LOL
