I Want to Have His Baby and I Don’t Know Why

i-want-to-have-his-baby-and-i-dont-know-why

Don’t we all get little crushes on dudes that are public figures? Movie stars, TV stars, sports figures, even politicians. I get so caught up on certain men that I start basing ALL of my heroes on him. But it’s like I can’t let them go.

Yes, I realize I’m a freak. You don’t need to rub it in.

So I see this picture of Clive Owen and I think damn. He looks kinda hot sitting there on the sidelines of a freaking women’s fashion show in NYC for God’s sake. Surrounded by several beautiful actresses - Demi Moore, Hilary Swank, Maggie Gyllenhaal. I like the expression on his face. I like the way he’s sitting - very manly. I like that big ol’ watch on his wrist. I like the way his hands are clasped. I like the suit he’s wearing.

First thought when I saw this photo - I’d have his baby.

I don’t WANT anymore babies. I’d freak the HELL out if I got pregnant right now (I have 3 and I’m too old and too burnt out for any more - I’m done). So why would that crazy thought run through my mind?

So I decided to look him up on the Internet (the Internet is a beautiful thing, isn’t it?) and as I’m looking at other photos I’m very “eh.” He’s not all that. I go back to the above picture and I immediately want to have his baby again. :hump:

Weird!

Anyone ever do this before? All it takes is one photo and you’re swooning. Any other photos of the same person and you’re like

I don’t get it.

(p.s. Hillary Swank’s legs are like toothpicks! Look how skinny they are!)

Ha! I totally was thinking the same thing about Hillary’s legs! And I was wondering why Demi wore sunglasses.

I have to admit, this picture does nothing for me. He looks like a guy at a fashion show and so all I can think is…why is there a guy at a fashion show?

But yes. I can totally develop a crush on just a picture. Totally and completely. I can’t remember the last person it happened with. Actually, I fell in lust with Matthew McConaughey after watching him in A Time to Kill.

    :hitit:

  2. Contessica Says:

Lust what a wonderful thing - heros based on actors? Hmm i have no idea what you are talking about. Just kidding. I think we all have are little hook ups all it takes is a picture, a cetain pose, that gesture and wham it can hit hard. Personally I have a thing for British accents um like Gary Oldman - Dang now I need to get those images out of my head you are all evil. rasta :surrender:

  3. Rob Graham Says:

When I crush it’s most often women in music.

For close to thirty years I can’t hear the dulcet tones of Kate Bush without having a, um, physical reaction.

Sarah McLachlan and Neko Case do it for me as well. :hump:

  4. F ionn J. Says:

Oh my…that’s sexy. Clive Owen! :hitit: (was looking for excuse to use that smiley)

:D I actually feel that way about Viggo Mortensen even though he’s actually a year older than my mom (and man, is that frightening!). All the other girls can have their twiggy Orlando aka Legolas. Umhm, but I want me some of that Viggo right there on the corner, please.

  5. WendyPortia Says:

I don’t know about falling in love from a single piccie… but I’m all about being totally in lust with a guy I’ve only seen in pictures and on the telly.

Ah, Vincent D’Onofrio… fat, thin, stubbly or clean shaven… I’d do him!

  6. Gwen Hayes Says:

David Boreanaz (though I can’t spell his last name). nummy

  7. Karen Says:

Hey Rob I’m a fan of Kate Bush but not in quite that, ahem, manner. :nener:

Yeah bring on those crushes! I love to hear about them. How about Vincent in Full Metal Jacket, Wendy? Man he was so scary!!!! :pirate:

  8. Feisty Says:

Pretty much every hero I write is based on Indiana Jones. Does that count?

I even gave my current hero a whip! But he used it a little bit differently, if you get my drift. :badgirl:

Oh, I have this picture of Owen Wilson where he’s lounging in a chair, and he’s wearinag jeans, a blazer and flip=flops. Meow.

  9. Antonia Pearce Says:

Oh, I adore Clive Owen! I do wonder why he’s at the fashion show, but he is surrounded by beautiful, famous women–so maybe there is a method to his madness.

I also adore Viggo–very close to my own age, thank you very much, children!

Also, Colin Firth, Eric Bana and Orlando, despite his age. He’s just so good with a sword.

  10. Dana Says:

Pierce Brosnan. The man wore a frickin SKIRT on the beach in The Thomas Crown Affair and I’d STILL jump him.

  11. Emma Says:

That’s a really awesome (and story provoking) picture of Clive Owen. Yum! I can honestly say I’ve never looked at a man and thought I’d like to have his baby. Then again I do have an allergy to children. *shrugs* Anywho. I don’t often get celeb crushes or at least not lusty ones though I can hear certain singers and start thinking naughty thoughts. Damien Rice singing Moody Mooday. Trent Reznor singing Closer. Serj Tankian simg Question! Garth reciting the alpahbet. Wheeeeeew! :hitit:

  12. Stella Price Says:

:pirate: I have an unholy obsession with James Purefoy. i mean UNHOLY. i would have the mans bastard children in a heartbeat… i mean YUMMY YUMMY! but then again, i have a big thing for Brits. Also, Johnny Depp, Ryan Reynolds and OMG David Wenham… very sexy and they SO get me through the day, but James Purefoy is my biggest celebrity crush EVER.

  13. Gwen Says:

Well - every time I see a Nathan Kamp cover, I fall in lust all over again. That man is gorgeous.

  14. Jane E. Jones Says:

Ooooh I have lots of celebrity crushes! Usually though, if I have a crush on them, I’m going to pretty much love them in ALL pictures, no matter what. Love/lust is blind, for awhile, anyway.
    Colin Firth! Oh yeah;)
    And I love Clive Owen…
Johnny Depp; I’ve loved him forever!
    Naveen Andrews. Drool!
And Viggo too, he was so hot in LOTRs!
    Keifer Sutherland, sigh:)

  15. Fae Says:

Hm. AJ Styles. They don’t call him The Phenomenal One for nothing. Do a Google and see what I mean. *wink*

  16. Shelli Says:

Colin Firth. That’s the guy. That man so replaces every other man in my object of lust. I’m not sure what movie made me fall for him (and I’ve never seen P&P so no it wasn’t that.)

  17. Jane E. Jones Says:

Maybe you saw him in Bridget Jones Diary as Mark Darcy, Shelli?:) Or Love Actually…Or Nanny McPhee?:) Or maybe, Girl with a Pearl Earring. He is amazing!

  18. Shelli Says:

I did see Bridget and Love Actually. Both of those cemented it, I think there must have been something even earlier…maybe… LOL. He’s just so yummy.

  19. Lia Morgan Says:

I get it. Brendan Fraser in the Mummy and Mummy Returns, oh yeah :hitit: . In other movies…
I was delighted to learn that there will be a third Mummy movie in 2008.

Ryan Reynolds with a scruffy beard. OMG yes. Which is huge since my brother’s name is Ryan, and I don’t want to be reminded of my brother when a guy turns me on. But, give the man a shave and I can appreciate that he is attractive.

I get it, Karen. There are just some pictures of some guys that can make you want to toss caution to the wind. Then in another picture he is any other good looking man.

  20. Ericka Scott Says:

Mine was a movie — Speed with Keanu Reeves. Hell, I even wrote fanfic…Speed starring ME instead of Sandra Bullock, what happened after, and yes…I DID HAVE HIS BABY…well, only on the pages of a notebook, but that counts. Right?

  21. Christina Says:

I am with Gwen, we share the same celebrity crack addiction to David Boreanaz. I would SOOOOOO have his baby, heck I would have more than one of his babies, LOL.

I do have to say that I have always had a thing for Orlando Bloom in Legolas costume, something about that beautiful elf man just makes me want to grab him and not let go!

  22. Samantha Hunter Says:

Oh, this is one of my favorite topics — I agree, we all have these fun crushes. ; ) Dh and I regularly share our “lists” as they change over time LOL.

    Mine are, in order

Michael T Weiss (played The Pretender — he can look really dorky in some photos, and wildly hot in others…)

Anthony Stewart Head (Giles on Buffy)

    Pierce Brosnan (oh yeah)

    Naveen Andrews (Sayid on LOST)

Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs — he’s a new addition. ;)

MTW and Pierce have been standards. The two Hughs (Jackman and Grant) fade in and out these days, a girl’s imagination needs new material. ;) But with all of them, assuming I wasn’t happily married, which I am….

    :hitit:

LOL I’d been waiting for a chance to use that one, too.

    Sam

  23. Deanna Lee Says:

    Vin Diesel :hitit:

  24. Ava Rose Johnson Says:

I am sooo with you. Clive does it for me, so does David Boreanaz. Yum!

Samantha- I thought I was the only one with a thing for Giles:)

  25. Samantha Hunter Says:

LOL Ava… we can share. I think there’s enough fantasy material there for two.

And I completely forgot Rob Morrow (Dr Joel on Northern Exposure/ Don Epps on Numb3ers). The hero of my Blaze anthology next summer is named Joel, and the hero of a wip I have now is Don… :evillaugh:

    Sam

  26. Yolanda Says:

Oh, Clive Owen! Yeah, me likes a lot. I love the way he looked in SIN CITY. Yikes!

Anyway, this is such an awesome post. I reckon we ALL go through this, all the time.

My latest obsession is Jared Leto. Strange, but he’s been in movies for a long time and I didn’t think much of him. Now he’s in a band and I’m like: Wow! He’s quite the hottie. I think it’s that whole musician thing. ;) But I find him irresitable now and searched for a thousand pics of him on the net. Okay, maybe not a thousand, but still enough to make sure I can model every single hero I write after him from now on. :thumb:

  27. Fae Says:

Jared Leto is a definite hottie, Yolanda. A little too skinny now but not by much, I like slender effeminate boys and he definitely fits that currently. Plus what’s not to love about a man who played Colin Farrel’s gay love interest??

  28. Karen Says:

Ooooh, I’m loving all of these lists. Naveen Andrews yum yum. Colin Firth, ooh baby. But I’m sorry, Orlando Bloom does absolutely nothing for me. Nothing. Oh well - that leaves more for the ladies you like him. :hump:

  29. Karen Says:

And that’s supposed to read who like them not you like them.

Sigh…I’m tired. I’ve helped a friend move all morning. I’m waving the :surrender: now.

  30. Robin L. Rotham Says:

Everyone already knows I’d like to do Chad Kroeger on a tour bus, mostly because of his lyrics and his voice. Normally I’d curl my lip at a rock star — especially one who’s blond, and a smoker, and younger than me, and wears jeans at least six sizes smaller than mine. In fact, he’s really not my type at all, but there you have it — the attraction that happens against all reason.

Tom Welling is hot, too, but he’s just TOO pretty and I can only see him (and he can no doubt only see himself) with a super-model type. Chad, OTOH, seems like the kind of guy who’d be just intrigued enough by my erotic writing to give me a wonderfully nasty mercy fuck. I’d take it, too.

  31. Bonnie Edwards Says:

For me, it’s not so much still photos…but images from movies…oh mama!

Like way, way way…back in the 70s when Rocky Balboa threw his hands up on that overhead beam and talked to Adrienne the first time she came up to his apartment. I don’t remember what the HELL he was saying and it doesn’t matter AT ALL! It’s the arms…the shoulders…the movement.

    Still takes my breath away.

And Vin Diesel in Pitch Black…when he reaches through and touches the woman’s hair…you think he’s going to slit her throat…but he sniffs her hair and you KNOW how he wants…needs…

this is, of course, the reason I write erotic romance. Mostly b/c at heart I’m a :badgirl:

  32. Jen Says:

Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty. It’s those eyes. Yum! :hitit:

And Vigo in LOTR, in a heartbeat. But without the scruff and the hair? Eh, not so much.

  33. Karen Says:

**Chad, OTOH, seems like the kind of guy who’d be just intrigued enough by my erotic writing to give me a wonderfully nasty mercy fuck. I’d take it, too.**

Robin this KILLED me!!! Seriously, I was rolling. Like this guy. :lmao:

Bonnie, I know exactly what you mean about the Sylvester move. Now, my hang up isn’t the Sylvester move but I’ve seen moments like that in movies or even in photos where I’m like hot damn! Gimme some of that!

Ok I need to stop before I embarrass myself.

  34. Will Belegon Says:

Because that Feisty wench wants me to…

from way back in the day, I’ve always had the answer when someone wanted to play the , “If you had to do a guy…” thing. Adam Ant. Liked the music, the style, the commitment to his audience. I guess if I have a “guy type”, Adam fits it. Physically, too. And if you want me to expand upon that? Get me drunk and bring up the subject or something. I’m only willing to feed all y’all just so much voyeuristic imagery for free…

  35. Marianne LaCroix Says:

    Ohhhh where to start….

    Jack Davenport
    Huge Jackman
    Gerard Butler
    Russell Crowe
    Jason Isaacs

And the list goes on and on and on

  36. Kate Diamond Says:

Marianne–great taste! I’ve been in love with Gerard Butler since “Dear Frankie.”

And don’t even get me started on The Summer of Crowe. That was my first serious movie crush, and my best friend (who was a film student) shared it. We saw all of his movies. Even the obscure Australian indie flicks. And our loved ones stopped talking to us until we stopped obsessing.
