The Labor of Luuuurve

Wowser, I’m a little late posting this morning. Why? Because last night I got in a zone. That final stretch of the story where the finish line was in site. And I’m telling you nothing penetrated my zone. I had a to-do list of things to do when the kid fell asleep. One, write my blog post for today. Two, clean the house after tornado child let loose. Three, lock the front door (look at me putting my life in danger!) Nothing got done.
I was just a writing fool, and when I finally called it quits I had one of those,”What. What just happened. What time is it. I blacked out.” moments. I love that zone. Even if it means I had to get up extra early to clean, am writing a somewhat short random post, and had to run downstairs close to midnight to lock the door. I can’t be the only person who goes to this alternate dimension. It happens to you, too, right?
Now I’m going to finish the darn book. They don’t call it labor day for nothing. Go BBQ or something! Have a good one
*I was totally going to put a picture of a woman pushing in labor, but got too grossed out searching for pics. So congratulations you get the happy, cheese ball graphic!

Sherry - the College of Midwives is always good for an image of labor or two. I put one on Sybil’s blog once and you can’t imagine the number of hits it generated. For weeks we had people clicking on that link. Too funny.

Ericka, I hadn’t been there in awhile either! I realized this was the first contemporary book I’d written in a bit and so it was throwing me for a loop.
Sam, thanks! Isn’t it the best? I jus love it when it happens.
Susan, wow you just totally made my day!!

Ah, the zone. How I miss it. Been awhile since I got there for anything other than lesson planning or grad school work.

I miss the zone too. I haven’t zoned in a while. I mean, I just finished something last week but the pushing/laboring part was horrible. I want my zone back!!!
And I’m proud of you Shelli!! Yay!

Well, I’m not in grad school anymore… I graduated. Now it’s just the teaching, writing curriculum once a month, and being co-chair of my department.
Did I mention I’m planning a wedding? AHHHH!
