I’m so happy about my signed copy–that I gave it away

As you all might know I’m published mainly with Cobblestone Press and Samhain Publishing (so far!) But I also had a story in a print book, Christmas Wishes, from Highland Press. I wrote the story in this book so my conservative relatives/friends would have something non-erotic (this is PG!) and in print to read. I specifically wrote it for them.
I had my first and only (so far!) book signing with this book. And, being that it was my first time, I think I did okay. I sold about 20 books. Mainly to friends and family. I was so thrilled to see them come out and support me. To buy my book and say how proud they were of me, how excited they were to read it….fast forward to present date.
So today I’m watching my kid and my nieces. I decide I’ll take them all to a used book store and let them pick out a book. We’ve all made our selections, we’re heading out, and then my niece goes, “Hey! It’s your book!” Wow!!! Really? I’m so cool I made it to the used book store?
So I reach up and grab it
I notice it says local author, autographed copy
I open it up and, oh, there’s my name signed inside
…. and my dedication to one of my friends
